1  "Redeeming Our Time" / Prayer Requests / My Prayer Request on: April 20, 2009, 03:35:24 pm
I posted about this on my blog, but I thought I would add it in here because I could definitely use the prayers!

I am quitting my job and I gave my 2 weeks notice today. God has hit me hard with the realization that I need to be home. I don't have children yet, but God has pressed into me that my first responsibility (after Him, of course) is to stay home and keep my home and serve my husband.

Here is the big deal. My husband is unemployed. We were both laid off last October and we both decided at the time I would go back to work to help pay bills. The thing of it is, I wasn't supposed to go back to work. God let me know that it was time for me to stay at home and I let my flesh creep in and I got scared, so I took the job.

This past weekend we met with our Godly mentors and decided it was best for me to quit my job. So I am.

My prayer is not only for finances, but that my faith does not waiver and that I can learn to lean into Him with all my heart. I know in my heart that He will provide, but I need to get that thought in my head because my head just doesn't see it.
2  "Redeeming Our Time" / Current Study: Habakkuk / Re: Week Two (4/9-4/16) Discussion Questions - Habakkuk 1:1-4 on: April 15, 2009, 11:20:55 pm
Such great thoughts so far! I have to admit I have really slacked this week. I went to bed reallllly late Sunday night and it's totally messed with my schedule. By the time I'm home from work I'm exhausted and reading is the last thing on my mind.

Hopefully by next week I will be back on track.

I've been wanting to post all day, but I just haven't had the time. Hopefully after church tonight I can get on and post my thoughts.

Oh and if anyone if interested. Mark Driscoll of Mars Hills Church has his sermons on Habakkuk available on his website.

I'm with you on the coffee love! How do you drink it? Do you like flavored creamers? I'm all about the pumpkin spice creamer during the holidays. My usual is a little sugar with some half and half.

Good heavens, I can see how you could get confused with that horrible sentence structure! I need to learn no to post when I'm tired.

I absolutely think that God chose my husband. My life verse is Jeremiah 29:11 and it says that God knows the plans He has for me. I believe those plans includes my husband. Besides, God would have had to chose him because know how I am and I would have chosen someone totally wrong for me.
